It’s been about eight months since I last posted. Oops. Honestly, there wasn’t a lot going on, horse-wise for most of the winter. I rode in a lesson once a week, but that was about it.
So skipping over fall and winter…by the end of February, everything changed when a lovely family at the barn offered me a partial lease on their horse, The Chief! It took a little figuring out, and I started in March.
I’d ridden Chief a handful of times before, including a really fun cross country schooling day in our field at the barn. Funnily enough, that was one year ago today!
He is a Certified Beast(TM):

He is very handsome:

Submits to taking selfies:

And has a very cute, funny personality:

I rode a handful of times in March, nothing crazy as he was coming back into work after some time off. I had a family trip planned for the second half of March, so I planned to resume riding in April.
Well.
We all know what happened. Not only have I not ridden at all since getting back home, I’ve barely left the house.
In all seriousness, I am very lucky. I am able to continue working from home and my family is safe and healthy so far. That’s really all I can ask for. So, while there STILL won’t be a lot of riding updates in the next little while, I have some fun house projects I’d like to post about, and I might also post about the long-planned family vacation that we juuuuuuust squeezed in before the world was overtaken by this pandemic.
I am not able to go to the barn or ride either. But I am well and although I worry for my son who lives in London England and my daughter and her family I have nothing else to worry about. Much to be grateful for. Nice to hear from you again. Stay well!
