GUYS. I will be riding a real live, actual horse tonight. It’s been weeks. Like. My last lesson was six weeks ago. And I think I rode once in between there?
I mean, there are lots of reasons for this. Like, I was on vacation for awhile which was amazing and will get its own post.
And I haven’t been doing zero horse-related things. I’ve been watching a lot of Heartland on Netflix. JK. I have been doing real life stuff with ponies, too. I have volunteered at an event, gone to support my team at a show, audited a clinic, and dragged my husband through the horse barns at the Calgary Stampede (again, more on that later).
All that said, I can’t wait to sit on a horse this evening.

Lived in Alberta my entire life and I have never actually spent any time at Stampede LOL. We went for a concert but ONLY went to the concert.

I was surprised by how much like a U.S. state fair it was! Lots of interesting fried food. But a lot of the animal demonstrations were amazing! Not just the cool horse stuff like extreme cowboy racing, but even the world sheepdog championships were super fun and interesting to watch!
