Santa Baby, Eventing Edition

I’m going to need a lot of new stuff as I get into this whole eventing thing.

On Small Business Saturday I went ahead and purchased myself a cross-country safety vest because it was 30% off and I couldn’t find any better deals on the one I wanted than that. Even on Black Friday! It was still expensive, but it’s one piece of equipment I won’t skimp on or buy used. Call me crazy, but I enjoy my bones and organs intact. I got the Charles Owen JL9 in black. I liked how it fit and made me feel secure without getting in my way.

But other than that expensive purchase, there are a bunch of other things that I’m going to need! So I figured I’d better ask Santa for some help.

Santa Baby, Eventing Edition

Santa baby, slip a saddle under the tree, for me.
Been an awful good girl, Santa baby,
And hurry down the chimney tonight.

Santa baby, fullseat breeches in white will do, need two
I’ll wait up for you dear, Santa baby
And hurry down the chimney tonight

Think of all the fun I’ve fought,
Think of all the horses that I haven’t bought
Next year I could be just as good…
If you’d check off my Christmas list

Santa baby, I want some tack and really that’s not a crack,
Been an angel all year; Santa baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa honey, there’s one thing I really do need,
the deed – to an eventing barn, Santa baby
So hurry down the chimney tonight

Santa baby, fill my stocking with a vest that protects, and checks,
Sign your ‘X’ on the line, Santa cutie,
And hurry down the chimney tonight

Come and trim my Christmas tree
With some decorations bought at the saddlery;
I really do believe in you
Let’s see if you believe in me

Santa baby, forgot to mention one little thing, a gelding
Board and vet bills all paid, Santa baby,
So hurry down the chimney tonight

What’s on your Santa Baby list?
