I really liked Genny’s post about her favorite moments of 2017 so I’m totally copying it! In a lot of ways, 2017 has been a strange and challenging year in the global sense. But for me, it has been one of the best years I can remember. It’s been downright magical. I’ll try and keep it short. (No promises!)

It was like one million degrees out, I barely slept and it was still an unbelievably awesome weekend. Completing was one thing, taking the win made me ugly cry (remember, I was severely sleep deprived, too). The only downside? It was the last show of the year and now I have to wait until next summer.

Exploring Utah

We drove hundreds of miles, saw a lot of wildlife including mustangs, hiked our legs off and ogled the amazing landscape all day every day. I can’t wait to go back.

All the XC Schooling

Even the time I got a black eye. I feel really lucky to have done so much schooling on cross country this year. By the end I was feeling really confident over Novice and even some Training level stuff. Dang, now I just want to go XC schooling! Ugh winter why are you so long and cold?

Pony Rides with Kiddos

It was so fun to share the love of horses with my nephew and niece. They both had a great time (despite my niece’s look of uncertainty here) and I’m happy to say that they both love playing with their toy horses and are therefore potential future horse people. Yay!

There are many more moments, big and small, that I could pick – time with family and friends, wedding planning, quieter moments with the horses – but I did promise to try and keep it short. At this time of year, it’s so easy to get caught up in being busy and stressed. Stopping for a moment to reflect on my favorite moments of the year made me feel happy, lucky and loved.
